| Commandery
At present conditions its very hard to speak about the original Lietzen
commandery plan, for most of the buildings have been pulled down and new
ones, fulfilling other functions have appeard. No iconographical records
or precise archive data about the commandery buildings have survived to
our times. What is more, no archeological research has been carried out
in this area.

The remaining of the original commandery building is the order's chapel
located in northern area of the funding. The building was constructed
in roman style in the second half of XIII century from accuratly processed
granite blocks. The temple was set up upon an oblong plan with two stepped
portals on the western and southern side. In XV century the church was
considerably transformed. In the first stage the eastern part was taken
apart. Next, with usage of the demolishion debris, a five-laterally closed
presbitery was built. The interiors were divided into spans and covered
with a star-shaped(?) dome. On the north-east side, in place of the original
one, a duble-spaned vestry was reconstructed. Later the window slots were
enlarged, the southern portal was walled up and on the southern side a
bolt turret(?) toped with slender signature(?), was built. Inside, among
the baroque outfit, the only existing relic from the times of the templars
is the gravestone of Magdeburgian canon Johanes von Niendrop, who died
in 1276...

| The Granery
Another relic of the original funding is the stone granary situated on
the southern side of the temple. Building that is constructed on four-lateral
plan and situated on the east-west axis, was covered with high, duble-fall(?)
roof. In the wall surrounding the granary, a small slots closed by the
sharp-arched elements are located. They look as shooting-slots. In the
western top, a sharp-arched biforium(?) from late gothic is situated.
It is supposed that the bottom parts of the granary comes from the times
of templar. Building determines this commandery to be economic center
of order's latifundiums.
